Teaching others the craft of Mobile UX
As Apple and Google rolled out their new mobile design systems in 2013, I was starting on my first major mobile project. This project forced me to grow as a designer and helped me understand the importance of designers understanding technology. This was the start of my passion for native mobile design. As I gained more experience, I saw the opportunity to help connect others with the craft.
I quickly realized that there were not many tools available to help designers understand how to work with native mobile technology. To help address this, I started to create designer focused content geared towards building usable, scalable, and valuable app experiences. I post this content on my website, MobileUX.net so it is accessible to everyone.
In addition to mobile design, I am passionate about product process and design ops. It can be challenging to find advice for building more collaborative, cross-disciplinary teams or jump right into agile processes. To support this, I also write technology-agnostic pieces to help designers see their roles beyond artifact creation.
As mobile technology continues to evolve, there is always more to learn. Mobile UX is an ongoing project that I continue to grow in order to help designers connect with the craft.
